If minimalist design is too sparse for you, maximalism might be right up your alley. But what is maximalism and how can you create the look without the clutter?

Maximalism design is an artful mix of patterns, textures and layers. It isn't chaotic. Rather, it requires thought and a method. Many love that maximalism tells a story and that can be YOUR story. It can include pieces that reflect your culture, your hobbies and your travels. This can be done with a gallery wall, plants, patterned wallpapers, ornate chandeliers, and a combination of new and old pieces. How can you express your individuality and personality without having an overwhelming, cluttered look?

There are several ways. One way is to choose a few favorite colors to create a cohesive look. Also, there should be a theme which can be done using textures and colors throughout a space. Keep in mind the size of the space and try not to fill it up with too much furniture. Tidiness is still important. Maximalism does not mean piles of random things lying around. Use creative storage solutions to keep things where they belong. Keep only what you love. If you don't love a piece, let it go. Even maximalism requires a bit of minimalism to create a beautiful and functional space. Do you need help decluttering and organizing your home?
