Things to Declutter Today

As a professional home organizer, I see where clients struggle to let items go. Here’s a list of things that people often have a hard time getting rid of, but here is permission to let go.
Old Magazines – We hold on to them because they’re “nice to flip through,” but they pile up quickly.
Expired Coupons – We always think we might use them, but they just sit in our wallets or drawers.
Old Receipts – We keep them for “proof of purchase,” but rarely ever need them.
Clothes We Don’t Wear – Whether it's a shirt from high school or something with the tags still on, it can be hard to part with items even when they don't fit or aren't needed.
Old Charging Cords – We keep random cords thinking we might need them, but most of the time, they just sit unused.
Toys and Kids' Stuff – It’s hard to part with toys or gifts that have sentimental value, but if the kids have outgrown them, it’s ok to let them go.
Junk Mail – We accumulate piles of junk mail, but there’s rarely anything important in it.
Expired Food – We might have a pantry full of expired canned goods or half-empty spice bottles, which are easy to toss but we often forget to do so.
Plastic Bags – We tend to accumulate them even though they can easily be recycled or reused.
Books We’ll Never Read Again – Old textbooks or novels we’ve read once but can’t seem to part with.
